Amul Owner GCMMF left Mother Dairy behind with the highest bid for DMS






The Amul brand owner Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF) has left Mother Dairy behind and has made the highest bid for running the troubled dairy unit, Delhi Milk Scheme (DMS). However, the final decision is yet to be taken.

An industry executive said that instead of using DMS properties, GCMMF has offered an annual rate of 42.30 crores, compared to Mother Dairy offering 42.20 crores. The dialects for the Delhi Milk Scheme were opened on November 27.

"The financial bids of both Amul and Mother Dairy have been accepted," said an official of the Agriculture Ministry. They are now assigned to the Bid Evaluation Committee. Amul has made the highest bid. Now the evaluation process and commercial formalities will begin.

This rent agreement will be for the initial 30 years. The decision to lease properties of DMS was pending since the UPA Government's time. DMS was started in 1959 by then President Rajendra Prasad.
