Jharkhand marks it name ahead of all southern states in fishery production





In the case of fishery production, Jharkhand has made its identity as a leading state in the country, leaving southern states behind.

In the year 2013-14, there was a production of 1 lakh tonnes of fish and in this regard, the figure has increased to 2 lakh tonnes in the year 2018-19. Central Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh on Thursday inaugurated the inaugural function of the International Agriculture and Food Summit held in Gurgaon.

Singh said that leaving the southern states behind in fish production, Jharkhand today has become a recognized leading state in fishery production. Fishery production has increased from 1 lakh tonnes in 2013-14 to 2 lakh tonnes in 2018-19. At the same time, an increase of 181 percent is recorded in fish seed production.

Fishery seed production was 100 million in 2013-14, which increased to 1060 million in 2018-19.
